How Can I Make a Few Extra Bucks Per Month Really Easily?
If you want to add a few bucks to your monthly income without having to jump through a bunch of hoops to get there, a direct mail business is for you. You can easily start a direct mail business from your kitchen table and you will be generating a few extra bucks in no time. Read on to find out how.
Direct mail marketing is one of the oldest ways a home-based entrepreneur can make some cold, hard cash right away. You’re probably wondering what you’re going to sell. Well, information products, basically paper and ink are one of the quickest and most profitable ways to go.
With an information product, you will find a niche market where there is a large customer base. You will then find a problem that needs to be solved and using your knowledge if the topic, you create a report. These reports do not have to be full-length novels. Some of the best information products are just a handful of pages. People are not looking for a plot when they want a problem solved; they just want it solved NOW.
Look for a topic where you know more than the average person. Maybe it’s something that you do at your day job or a topic that you like to read about in your free time. Make the project fun. Type it up on a word processor program, have it photocopied on two sides to save on postage weight and you have a product that you can print on demand (no need for inventory).
Once you have a product, you can create a sales letter or postcard to mail out. You can easily find lists of people that are willing to buy from your particular niche using a list broker. The better the list of names, the more money you will need to pay, but you can buy batches of names that will fit your budget. Once you have your list, send out a test mailing to part of the list. This test mailing must be significant enough to be able to tell if your sales letter worked, but not too big so that you will have to pay a lot of money. Generally 500 names will make a good test, but if you can’t afford that many stamps, mail what you can.
Once you have the results of the mailing, go back and tweak your sales letter to see if you can increase the closing ratio. Once you have a good closing rate (anything above 1% is pretty good for direct mail, but try for higher), mail as many of those letters as possible, and watch the cash flow in to your mailbox.
