Modern Marketing:
Companies want more customers – that much is obvious. But how do they get more customers? They have to advertise their services. Again, so far nothing
new. Most advertising comes in the form of TV ads, billboards, newspaper and magazine inserts, radio, sponsorships and so on, but there’s something else that a lot of companies are just starting to use: the internet.
Because the internet and the web are so far reaching, and because more and more people are getting on everyday, and because it’s so easy to put your advertising message in front of an internet user, companies are spending billions of dollars in online advertising campaigns. And it’s that money which is going to get spent on your next free gadget. The main approach that companies take is that they need to get eyeballs onto their offers. Their offer might be a free trial, or a free sample of their main product, but the more people they can drive to that offer, the more new customers they’ll eventually attract.
For example, if 100 people see the offer, they know that on average, 1 will sign up and become a customer. That customer will also have a particular value associated with it – they’ll know (through research) that over time, each customer will be worth an average of $50 (for example) to the company. That means, the company can afford to spend up to $50 to drive 100 visitors to their offer, because they know that 1 person will turn into a customer and bring $50 worth of revenue for the company.
This is absolutely key – the company can spend money getting people to try out it’s free offers, because they will make money in the long run.
But that’s not the whole story. The next bit is crucial – how can we get these companies to pay US the money to spend on gadgets? This is where another type of company comes in – the incentives marketing company. To make the distinction clear, the company with the offer will be known as the “Offer Company” or “Offer”, and the incentives company will be the “Incentive Company” or “Incentive”.Put simply, the offer company will pay money every time someone complete’s one of their free offers. Incentive companies refer people to the offers and collect the money. Once they’ve got that money together, they use some of it to buy gadgets for you. Some sites even offer cash instead of gifts – so you can complete a few offers and earn real money, as much as $500+ for some offers.
So here’s how the whole process works together:
? Offer companies create a series of offers.
? An incentives company collects these offers together and creates a website.
? You go to the incentives website and complete some free offers.
? The incentives website is paid by the offer companies.
? The incentives website uses that money to buy you gadgets!
The offers are free, and the offer company will pay out cash to the incentives company who refers visitors to the offers. They can do this because a certain percentage of visitors will convert to customers.
Nowadays, to speed up the whole process and to improve the quality of the visitors which the offer companies receive, they ask that you fill out one offer yourself, then invite your friends to fill out other offers.
1. Register with the site, and choose a free gadget
2. Complete an offer
3. Refer some friends to the site to complete steps 1 and 2
NOTE: it’s important to note that is NOT a pyramid or ponzi scheme. Your friends DO NOT have to refer more friends in order for you to collect your freebie.Once you have completed an offer, and your friends have complete an offer, you will receive your freebie.

So,its not a spam. You can try out for free.

Use Your Ebay Store To Double Your Sales

If you don’t have an eBay store you could be losing money big time.

Why?

When eBay stores first came out they were a flop. They actually wanted you to pay big time listing fees to put items in your store for up to 30 days but store items don’t appear in the regular eBay searches.

Because eBay stores were not doing that well eBay added “Good Till Canceled” listings. The listing fees are only 5 cents every 30 days which is a total bargain. But the big problem again is eBay store items don’t appear in regular searches. Read more…

Social Media and Brand Consistency

We all talk about brand building and using social media as a marketing tool a lot. One subject that I feel has been overlooked is keeping your branding consistent throughout each different social media platform. The look and feel of most social media platforms are all different but it’s important that when someone visits your Facebook or Twitter page that they still know it’s definitely your brand. So how will they know?

Facebook

Many brands use the FBML tab to create a tab that looks and feels very similar to the brand’s website. You will need to either know HTML or FBML or you will need to have someone write it for you. There are several other customizable options on Facebook including the About section, the ability to upload company logo’s and pictures and switching the tab that shows up first for your Facebook page visitors. You can see some great examples of excellent Facebook pages on the inspiration feed blog. Read more…

Don’t Touch That Button—Save Your Personal Brand!

As a young man I was always fascinated by the James Bond movies. I loved the action, the toys and, okay, the girls.  But the toys are what really fascinated me. The idea of a watch with a laser in it, a car that could actually be a submarine or a motorbike that could turn into an airplane captivated me. James Bond was definitely one of my childhood heroes.

It seemed that every movie followed the same basic plot and each of the bad guys all had a special button they could push when things seemed a little too bad–the “self destruct button”,  When it became apparent that the bad guys where going to lose they always went for that button. Read more…

Professional Social Networking For Your Success

As a professional in any industry, you should be using social networking to your advantage. The statistics about the influence of social media are overwhelming. Major marketing campaigns; such as Pepsi’s $20 million Super bowl campaign, have all but abandoned television and radio advertisements and have made the shift to marketing through social media. Facebook has taken it upon themselves to reinvent the way we do internet by infiltrating every webpage with the “like” button. Is your personal brand and business “liked”?

Google has moved away from its traditional search algorithm of simply searching for content, keyword, etc. They now include social media as part of the magical formula to create search results. When you search for your name I bet your Twitter and Facebook (if you have them) both come up on the first page of results. As a result, those who have not taken advantage of professional social networking are in danger of missing out on premium search result spots. Other search engines are adopting similar algorithms as well. They are all realizing the power that social media has on the virtual world. Read more…

Affiliate Marketing Secrets

One of the easiest and fastest way to make money online in through affiliate marketing. This is when you send visitors to someone else’s product sales page, they make the sale and deliver the product, and you get a percentage of the sale price as you commission (usually 50% or more for digital products).

The benefits of this are

  1. You can get started almost immediately because you don’t have to create a product, write the sales page, design the website, develop marketing materials, or set up the ordering, billing & delivery system.
  2. You have almost no investment of time because you don’t have to do the customer support or deal with billing or technical issues.
  3. You have nearly zero risk because you already know the product sells. So if you send visitors you will get paid.

Looking at these benefits, it’s clear that affiliate marketing is the way to go!

The downside is…

After all your hard work of generating traffic to the sales page, you will never see any of those visitors again. Most of them will not buy on their first visit, which means you’re losing over 90% of the traffic right off the top. And of the 10% or less that do buy, the product owner will be able to sell to them again, but you will not.

What’s the solution?

Simply put, you need to capture the name and email of your visitors *before* sending them to the product sales page. This way you can follow up with them and keep sending them back to the sales page to increase your chances of making the sale. And if you’re really on top of your game, you’ll then send to a pre-sales page in between. Here’s what these affiliate marketing strategies will do for you:

  1. You’ll be building your own list of potential customers that you can market to again and again.
  2. You’ll be pre-selling them by providing valuable information and then casually linking to the product sales page in the context of this information.

In order to set a system like this up, you will need the following

  1. A Video Squeeze Page (with video)
  2. One or more content-rich Pre-Selling Pages
  3. At least a 5-Part Email Followup Series

The video squeeze page is where you’ll direct your traffic instead of directly to the product sales page. It captures the name and email of your visitors and puts them into your autoresponder, which then begins sending out the 5-part email series. Then it redirects them to your pre-selling pages after they subscribe to your email series. All of this together increases your chances of making the sale by up to 500% so it’s well worth the effort of setting it up. And once it’s set up, it runs automatically – you just keep sending visitors to the squeeze page. If you don’t have the time or expertise to set it all up yourself, you can use something like Affiliate Silver Bullet. Services like this design the enter system (the video, the video squeeze page, the email series, the content pages, etc). The benefit is that it’s much less expensive then you could do it yourself, and it’s instantly set up. The downside is that other people will be using the same affiliate tools as you. But the internet is pretty big, so this isn’t much of a concern. The other route you can take is to hire people on Elance to create and implement the various aspects for you. Either way, it’s an important step that you need to take if you’re going to be serious about your business.
